I know I'm on some sort of weird unannounced hiatus and I'm not even fully sure what brought it about. I haven't even given a proper update in a month. I'll do a big recap entry some other time but for now...

So overall today was actually really awesome. Dad took me for lunch at his favourite bar and we were both a little disappointed that they didn't card me but oh well. XD The place was impressive (it's a huge sports bar with over 90 TVs) so, uh, if I liked sports I'd defintely go there all the time. |D;

Then we stopped in at a convenience store and bought lottery tickets. XD I've been able to buy them for a year now but I haven't yet, so it was another first for me. Then we came home and I found my laptop broken so, uh, yeah that wasn't very good. I didn't feel up to going for my haircut after that either so I stayed home and reconfigured the desktop for my regular use (ie: updated WLM, installed Plus, fixed up Firefox...) and that took a while. @_@; Then I started installing Portal which I bought myself yesterday.

Uh, didn't do much else. We walked up to my favourite restaurant, a little Japanese all-you-can-eat place and that was great, as always. 8D When we got home, Portal finished downloading and stuff so I played a bit of that. It doesn't work too well on this computer unless I kill the resolution but I got used to it. It's so much fun. I haven't played that much, but omgg. I want to keep playing but my brother has homework to do. Not that he's DOING it, but he'll be way more easily distracted if I'm playing it anyway so... augh. D8

It's weird being back on the desktop though. I'd gotten so used to my laptop's resolution that now that I'm back on 1680x1050 or whatever it is, I have SO MUCH SPACE and I don't know what to do with it! I enabled Windows Sidebar so that's taking up space, and I have my MSN chat open as big as I can bear it without feeling it's just large for the sake of filling space and I still have SO MUCH ROOM ON MY DESKTOP OMG.

We're gonna take my laptop into Best Buy tomorrow since apparently they're a licensed repair centre for HP? So hopefully they can fix it up and I can buy my monitor. (Mom and dad got me the digital camera for my birthday instead of the monitor, which is great because now I don't have to research them anymore. XD) So... here's hoping that goes quickly. :'D

So yeah, today wasn't too bad. I'm a little disappointed that something I really hoped would happen... didn't happen. But I guess I didn't expect it anyway, so oh well. :( Brynn just got yelled at and sent to bed for starting up Maplestory instead of doing work soooo... back to Portal!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERICA. HERE'S YOUR PRESENT: A BROKEN LAPTOP.

Yeah, my laptop won't boot. It makes these awful beeping noises when I try to start it up and there's no display. I think it runs fine after that, but considering I can't see what I'm doing, it kind of defeats the point. It worked after I tried booting up like 15 times earlier, but then my computer was too slow and everything kept not working (and my internet dropped) so I restarted and I'm back to square one. ~_~ I found a site that talks about the beeping noises and apparently my long beep followed by two shorter ones indicates a problem with the video/display, and one cause for that might be a broken fan. Which makes sense since I've been thinking my laptop is a little warmer than usual for no reason at all.

But regardless, it's not working right now. I don't like using the desktops because they aren't my computers and WLM doesn't even work on this one for some reason so I guess I'm out of commission.

I can't sign into PC because my password is in a text document on my laptop and I don't have it saved anywhere else, but thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. See you whenever I get this fixed.

Omggggg. I cannot wait for Anime North. Hope the plans don't fall through. I'm looking forward to meeting all the friends that are hoping to go. \o/

Anyway, today was good. Dad told me he had a meeting at a brewery today, but it was actually an interview at the same time. He said the people there really liked them and he'd heard from a contact that they were looking for a plant manager. But yeah, he really liked working with Labatt's so I hope he gets the job. It's completely perfect for him and he was really excited when he was telling us about how the pay wouldn't be as low as he expected (it's an independent brewery so he was a little concerned, I guess) and the atmosphere was really nice and they liked him and this is becoming a run-on sentence. But yeah. He hasn't been very impressed with the job opportunities that he's found so far in his hunt so I reeeeeally want him to get this one. :'D There's apparently a restaurant attached to the brewery so he's taking us out for dinner there on Saturday. I'm so excited for him. :D

Haha, and that's really all. Hoping to head to bed soon. With this cold I've caught and the late-night convos, I've been having terrible sleeps. D8 I hope I can catch up on that this week instead of waiting for the weekend. I'm sick of sleeping in until 12 every weekend and then continuing to screw myself over for getting to bed earlier on weeknights. XD; I'll go to bed in 10 minutes though. And fix iiiit. ♥

So, today's my brother's birthday and he had all his friends over for a party. A party we only learnt about two days ago or something.

But anyway, I had to go out and get his present and dad had a few errands to run, so we decided to get all that done in one fell swoop. So I went and got into the van and dad put something in the trunk. And then smashed the back door of the trunk down on his face.

:| The thunk and his yell of pain scared the crap out of me. D8 Luckily, he's fine--he was bleeding a bit, but it was just a minor cut on the bridge of his nose. But my god it was scary. @_@;; I'm really glad he's okay.

Um, but yeah. So I got my brother Halo 3 and put it in a kleenex-filled shoebox and wrapped it with 3 different kinds of wrapping paper, lol. :D Can't wait for him to open it.

I also found out that the controller I got replaced at Future Shop was replaced with another broken one. I don't know HOW that happened because apparently they took it out of the box and tested it to make sure it worked and everything. But yeah, the right control stick is utterly broken and the controller itself is dirty and a little marked on. WTF HOW DID NO ONE NOTICE THIS. :\ I was busy helping my brother pick out an iPod case when mom did the exchange so... gah. Now we have to go back again.

I also really dislike my brother's friends. THEY BROKE OUR WII. Mind you, it was fixable, but still. You know the top of the Wii, where you can flip up the plastic flaps to unveil the GCN memory card and controller ports? The smaller, memory card one was half broken off and the one for the controller ports was under the TV stand. <_< I was really, really pissed off, but I don't mind quiiiite as much since the parts snapped right back on. Agh, teenage boys. How did they not even notice this? It was an easy fix, so wouldn't whoever broke it off tell someone and then, since they're all from the gifted class, couldn't they put their heads together to figure out how to fix it and not give me a heart attack? D8 Anyway, waiting for 9:30 to roll around quickly so they'll all go away. I want to watch my brother open his gift. :(

Anyway, today was fun. xD Got my flesh eating disease from Caitlin in the morning and the rest of the day was pretty tame. :D Haven't studied for my Calculus test tomorrow so I know what I'm doing in homeroom tomorrow. I went out for dinner with my family tonight and then my mom, brother and I went to see Meet the Robinsons in 3D. 8D Awesome movie. But Triffy, the score didn't jump out at me, unfortunately. I think I was too enraptured with the movie to notice it though, which I guess is how it should be. ^_^;

In other news... :( I'm still not unbanned from y!gallery. Wtf guys, I'm 18 as of 22 hours ago. It's past 6PM. ;__;'

Something like that. Too lazy to check now.
