I dragged my butt out of bed at 8 this morning since I was told the Rogers guy would be here between 8 and 11. I, with good reason, assumed he'd be here later rather than earlier but lo and behold, as I was pouring myself some cereal, there's a knock on the door. He was in and out in under 30 minutes, awesome!

I ended up having the router set up downstairs on top of the TV since it's in a central enough location that we shouldn't have a problem all connecting. Except me. Because my laptop rarely has wireless internet. But I can get around that if need be--I've been doing it for a year now, after all. I'm just glad to not have to worry about missing stuff, only having a few hours of access a day, and I can come home right after class now too. \o/

lmfao it's been like... a day with no "proper" internet and I'm already whining. :(

I have three options:

1. Work computer - has IE6 so 'nough said



2. old desktop - has a keyboard that, every so often, will infinitely type kkkkkkkkkkkk or jjjjjjjjjjjjjj or apparently some other random letters. (My brother says it changes for him all the time.)



3. new desktop - completely ridden with viruses, as far as I can tell. Runs slower than a snail and every so often it'll just shut down completely. It took like 40 minutes to get through 5 pages of my flist. FUN.

wireless internet I miss you so much. ;_;

sigh. :( At least I'm making some progress in Re:CoM though. Still not totally sold on all the English voices but I'm trying my best to get used to them.

ffffffffff I hate Bell. :( Our modem/router was messing with our internet AND our phone lines. We called them up to complain and they insisted nothing was wrong in their systems and all they could suggest was to make sure all the phones in the house were plugged in. They were, of course, and I dunno what Bell said next but I know dad "fixed" it by himself.

He plugged in an older modem/router we had so now we've got internet on the desktops wired up to it but we cannot remember the WEP key for it nor the password for its admin page so wifi does not work. :( Thus I'm not gonna be online much when I'm at home these days. Not... that I was to begin with but still. This affects LJ because I don't like checking it at work. :C

And I guess it also affects MSN and any online gaming I do so... sorry for the disappearance guys. ;_;

ffffff and apparently HP6 isn't showing in 3D IMAX here (just IMAX) and it's also only playing at like... 6:30 then 10pm on Wednesday. x_x If we can't make the 6:30 show I'm gonna have to miss it AGAIN skdfjlfjs hate my job sometimes baaaw.

Uhhhm what else of interest has happened in the last while...? screw it. Point form here we go!

→ Mom got her new car the other week. It's nice. I got to drive it (most of the way) home from the car dealership. I wasn't a fan of the colour but it's growing on me. My dad and I have named it BFTZ (pronounced Biftiz, sorta) because those are the first four letters on the license plate and we love pronouncing license plates and that is an awesome one. We took the BFTZ to work today 'cause mom was home recovering from having a tooth extracted yesterday.

→ I've been waiting every so impatiently since May 30th for my copy of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days to arrive. Some bitch nearly spoilt it for me on deviantART. It was very hard to not download a ROM to my R4 but I prevailed and it finally arrived last night. I LOVE IT AAAAAAH. Gameplay is fun and Marluxia is in it omggg. He teaches you how to fight (or rather, stands there looking *fabulous* with his hand on his hip as you get swarmed by heartless and are nearly dead). And has gotten like 50x gayer. He runs funny. But when he's actually helping you he's probably the most useful partner I've had so far. XD; We had a wonderful time trying to beat this one stupid boss. I bet he hated me for that because my strategy was just horrible. But enough fangirling (for now).

→ They want me to work five days a week at work. BAAAW. I worked 5 days this week and I'm ready to collapse. But... money is money so I'll probably take the offer. I hope this doesn't burn me out. (It probably will.)

→ I need to sell some stuff to make money. :( I really want a new computer since my HP is a piece of shit. I got internet working on it the other day by reconfiguring my linksys router with custom firmware to turn it into a wireless switch but it worked for a day and then stopped and I'm not reconfiguring every time I turn that thing on so it's basically acting as a paperweight right now.

→ Snagged the username "lightningism" on facebook. I'll probably regret that one day since I changed right at midnight and could've picked a plethora of names but oh well. It's only FB. Not like I ever use it anyway lolol.

→ goddamn I'm tired. And it's only 1 AM. Hahaha. Gotta get up earlyish to pick up my prescription for Sunday and then clean up a bit before Dean gets here. He's coming over around 1 to pick up his copy of 358/2 and then sticking around to play. omggg I can't wait to try out multiplayer.

→ I need a new LJ layout. :|

Today is going by really slowly. Has anyone else noticed? :( I swear it feels like 4 PM which sucks because that's the time I go home, typically, and it's only around 2. baaaaw. I think my lunch break is nearly over (I forgot to check when I started oops) so I should go back to work.

Dreamwidth sucks because the admins are too lazy to get it to work with IE5. Baaaw I can't use anything else at work because only an admin login can upgrade IE or install new browsers. ;~;

Well, first off, it was my first day of work today. I was pretty tired all day yesterday so I managed to get to bed around midnight and I don't think I was awake when 1 AM hit. Thus I actually got a nearly-acceptable amount of sleep and I wasn't completely dead when I got up at 6:10. Work went well. I somehow haven't forgotten a thing so I was able to jump right in and get back to business pretty quickly. Got about 30 minutes of overtime in because dad took forever getting ready to go. I'll be working 4 days a week and tomorrow is my first off day, haha. (Dad's golfing tomorrow and wouldn't be able to bring me in.) I kinda missed it there. My dad and I had an office chair fight for a bit. :')

Anyway, aside from that not much else is new. Looking forward to Anime North. :] I'm actually really excited for this month. Mother's Day is this weekend and while I haven't actually thought of what to get mom, we always have a nice dinner that day so yaaay. The week after is a long weekend. We've got nothing planned but extra days off are always welcome. (Mind you, work is going to be SO BUSY in the next bit while liquor stores stock up for the May long weekend. >_<) Then ANIME NORTH the week after and I don't even have to explain that one. Then the week after that? 358/2 Days comes out and will be on its way to me. :> May is just awesome whooo.

All that out of the way, I'm kind of curious eljay. What's with Dreamwidth? I know everyone's migrating (even though everyone did that with Inksome and something else too and then came right back to LJ) but why? I can't imagine it's great for RPing or even all that great for fostering community discussion since from what I can tell even making communities needs a stand-alone invite code. Is it just so everyone can snag an awesome name and then forget about it? Is anyone using it for something other than their LJ (ie, posting art, fic, etc.)? Is everyone cross-posting? What's the deal? :( I wanna keep up with you guys but I'm not paying $3 for a month of paid time* just to get an account and apparently they're stingy with the invites so... idk. ._.;

So I picked up Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire at EB Games the other day because it was cheap and I loved the original (and it was on my wishlist!) and it's definitely shaping up to be one of the worst games I could have bought right before exams. It's easier than the original, which is a little disappointing, but that just means I want to get all the Pokémon because I probably can. Oh god. I also got Golden Sun: The Lost Age because Dean bought it and then realized he already have it so he gave it to me. I... should really play the first one. XD;
